Roussakis was chosen by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) to be in London as the official photographer for Canada’s Olympic team. He even went to Britain in March to take part in the run-through for accredited photojournalists with the Games. However, Roussakis says he was suddenly told on June 20 that his services would no longer be required.
The COC’s director of communications, Dimitri Soudas, is Harper’s former chief spokesman. The photographer who is now working with the team, Jason Ransom, is Harper’s official photographer and an employee of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The PMO says Ransom was granted a leave of absence to cover the Olympics.
Roussakis has retained a lawyer and says he’s seeking compensation from the COC.
