I need to get a flash for my Hassey. I looked at the D-40, but it has only one mode - TTL. I'd like a flash that has a fully manual mode too, any suggestions?

Hey Art,

I have a Metz 60 CT-4 which is a fantastic flash. *However, it puts out a LOT of light and it's a bit on the heavy side. *You can use it fully manual, or aperature-priority or you can go TTL. *I think the Metz 45 is probably a better flash (same basic functions, half the weight...) but the deal I got on the 60 was worth it... *Robust, too - the batteries last for ever.

I've always wanted to try the Quantum Q-Flash and the Sunpack, but I never quite got around to it...

Alastair.

I used a Quantum Q-Flash for years and it worked beautifully. With the TTL cord (I may have one for sale) it's the most accurate fill flash I've ever used. I haven't touched my Metz since. I used it with a Turbo battery and never had to worry about recycling time or running out of juice. I highly recommend it. I wish I could get that kind of accuracy for my D1x.
