Glad to see that CanPhoto is back up

Hi everyone ,
Just rejoined and verry happy to be back. Looking forward to reading what's going on, helping other photogs when I can, and having the opportunity to learn things from all of you as well. I've been shooting in the commercial domain the past 25 years. My specialiyies are corporate, events, fashion, industrial and product. With the invent of inexpensive digital cameras, almost everyone can now claims to be a photographer. We all know that however that to truly get the right inage captured, it takes much practice, the understanding of lighting etc... There is still opportunities out there but I for one, now have to do more calling (which I hate, afterall we are creatives and not sales people) to get the next job. Times are a changing. Anyhow, looking forward to communicating with you all going forward.

Richard: agreed. Every family has an Uncle Fred with a Digital Rebel. But Uncle Fred does not know how to take the camera out of green auto setting, so there's still an opportunity for pros. Less family, more corporate.

Welcome back Richard! You are absolutely right about the state of the industry today and I fear it will only get worse unless we all learn how to best market ourselves and our industry.
Cheers,
Peter
