Is anyone using the epson perfectionscan 3200 to scan slides?
It's ability to scan medium&large format slides as well as pages of 35mm looks enticing and would save a bundle on sending things out to be scanned. I am wondering about the quality of the slide scans from a non-dedicated flatbed scanner. |

Hi,
I just bought a 3200 after my old scanner died, and haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces yet. I don't intend on using it to scan 35mm film, I use a Nikon 4000 for that. I did find the ability to scan up to 4x5 film useful, and from what I've read in other forums, the scanner is capable of producing enough detail to yield 12x18 prints. The couple of prints I had to scan in a hurry were done on auto settings, and looked fantastic. I will repost after I play with some medium format negs in the scanner. Alan |

Hi,
I had a chance to run some 6x4.5 negs through the scanner, and it did a pretty good job. Like everything else, capture the largest file size possible at scanning time will give you lots of data to play with. I made a noise reduction profile in Neat Image for the capture files, and that cleaned them up considerably. |
