I just joined. Hello. I've been a professional photographer for 20+ years and my 15 years at B&H have given me extensive insights into our industry and its economics as well as the chance to meet and know many people working for the brands whose products we use.

Hi Henry,

We've corresponded offline, but I wanted to publicly welcome you to the CanPhoto Forums. It's nice to see some industry people from outside Canada taking notice of our little community.

We're certainly not the busiest forum on the web, and I am working hard to boost participation a bit, but I think most of our members have always preferred quality over quantity anyway. We could probably be busier if we relaxed our registration requirements and allowed anonymous members to join, but just being a "busy" forum has never been a priority here.

You may not be familiar with the CBC radio program The Vinyl Cafe (I think it's on NPR as well), but it's about a guy named Dave who's the owner of the world's smallest record store.

His motto is: "We May Not Be Big, But We're Small".

I've always like that motto, and think it could apply here as well.

Thank you. A warm welcome is always appreciated. I'll have to check my local NPR station for The Vinyl Cafe, although the motto reminds me of John Cusak's store in 'High Fidelity.' :-)

Welcome to our eclectic little world! We are indeed small, but I think a viable and occasionally vibrant alternative to the larger and less intimate groups.I love New York, used to live at 52nd and Lex for a while.BTW, do we all get a 25% discount now???
