Scala and Nikon 5000

Hi,
Would anyone know the proper settings on the nikon 5000 to scan Scala b&w slide film??
I tried a variety of settings....including the 'turn off color management' and use grayscale....from the Help files..But, it the scan looked terrible.

Hi Kieth I have the 8000 and we use the Mono setting to do B&W make sure you turn of digital ice as it reads the grain as obstructions on B&W film.

Let me know your results if it doesn't work I'll fire up the scanner and run a neg through. Give me your # and I will call you and we can go through it together at the same time. I remember when I first got it - many times other shooters help me out. Pay back time!
