Thumbnails in ps7

Hi,
I'm using PS7 on my mac, and can't get the program to save thumbnails. It will only display the little TIFF icons with the geometric shapes. In "file handling" I've checked "always save" and both the "mac thumbnail" and "pc thumbnail" boxes. Can anyone help me out?
