Vancouver fine art photographer Micheal Levin has released a short video produced in collaboration with Brad Kremer, a videographer for Nike and Burton Snowboards. The video was shot in Japan and shows Levin working in his environment in a way that compliments his photography. “I wanted to document Michael at work, in Japan, in a way that hasn’t really been explored with photographers,” says Kremer. “Not to explain it with words, but to feel it through the flow of the film. I wanted to show the process, the journey, the adventure in a way that would give the viewer an emotional connection to Michael and his photography.”
Levin says he understands how difficult it can be for fine art photographers to have their work known by a larger audience. While he has been fortunate enough to have received numerous international awards and other recognition, he says each step forward was difficult to achieve. “Other photographers and creative professionals who message me through my website are eager to know ideas and steps that they could take to open up an idea of their work to a larger audience”, says Levin. “I think that the unexpected results from shooting over five days in Japan will give other photographers creative ideas for how they can reveal more of themselves and connect better with their audience.
Brilliant! So creative. It is a wonderful juxtaposition of excellent photography and videography that builds like a an A+ movie. I couldn’t stop watching.
